A wide community of artists, filmmakers, and surfers supported the creation of the film, and the Santa Cruz premier continues to build this community focus with local farmers, chefs, musicians and surfers converging for a benefit dinner preceding the showing on Friday, August 14 at the Pie Ranch barn up by Ano Nuevo. The Mattson 2, a young jazz duo comprised of twin brothers, Jarred and Jonathan Mattson, will perform during the benefit dinner, which will support their parents (one of which is battling cancer, the other recovering from the removal of a brain tumor). The event will also feature a silent art auction to help with the remaining production costs of the film, and will include works by Santa Cruz artists Dave Gardner, David Kimball Anderson, Nikki Brooks, Thomas Campbell and Tiffany Campbell. - (from brown paper tickets website)
